Strawberry House Partial Cob Wall
I am a little behind on what is happening with Strawberry House. The week before last part of an interior wall made of cob was put up. It is going to have a wood stove in front of it and the arch is going to be for storing firewood, the stove will go to the left of the arch with a bookcase to its left, and a doorway into the bedroom all the way to the right. The 5 gallon plastic bucket stuck through the cob is creating a space for air circulation around the stove (it will get taken out of course) and the strawbale and rounds of wood formed a form to put the cob on to create the arch.
The bedroom is going to be raised and have a wood floor on the east end of the house, and a subfloor for it was also put up that week.
You can see the bottom part of the back of the cob wall under the bedroom floor with rocks forming part of its foundation, they were put outside the earthbags to protect them. (See last Strawberry house post.)
